Australian central monitoring stations are graded in accordance with Australian Standards, AS2201-2 which takes into account the monitoring station's building construction, their internal security, monitoring systems, and alarm action response times.
The highest accreditation that is awarded to a monitoring station under Australian Standards is
A1. The monitoring station's building construction and facilities are graded on a scale from A to C. Obtaining an "A" accreditation means to have a station most resistant to attack or sabotage. The monitoring station's equipment, operational procedures and staff alarm actioning response times are graded on a scale from Grade 1 to Grade 3 (Grade 1 having the highest performance rate). Therefore, the most secure and effective monitoring stations are accredited with a
Grade A1 classification.
